Linda Johnson (Merrick)

Linda Merrick, 58, a lifetime resident of Abilene, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at an Abilene medical center.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Northwest Church of Christ with Jacky Wallace officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. She will be cremated.

Born in Abilene, Texas on December 6, 1949, Linda was the daughter of the late Myrtle Catherine (Crow) and Ramond Lester Johnson. She received her degree in education from McMurry University in Abilene. She was a homemaker for the most part, but for the past ten years worked for Wal-Mart.

Linda was a loving mother and dearly loved by her children. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was active in her church work. She loved animals, especially her dog, Trixie.

Linda is survived by her son, Jonathan Merrick, and daughter, Sara Merrick and her husband, Justin, all of Abilene, and numerous cousins.
