Philip D. Parham (1950 - 2010)

Philip D. Parham passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, in Arlington after an extended illness. Memorial service: A private service will be held. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Dalworth Volunteers, in care of Dalworth Nursing and Rehabilitation, 405 Duncan Perry Road, Arlington, Texas 76011, attention: Charlie Kyser, or to a charity of choice.

Phil was born June 9, 1950, in Kingfisher, Okla., to Bob Parham and Peggy Sellars Parham. He was a twin and his brother, Steven, died shortly after birth. Phil moved to Texas and graduated from Abilene Cooper High School in 1968. He loved his Texas home and the phrase "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could" would definitely apply. But he always rooted for his Sooners!

Phil was a hard worker, whether it was sales, driving an oilfield truck or working in retail. He always did his best and was a loyal employee. He enjoyed the variety and opportunity to meet new people. He was a longtime resident of Dalworth Nursing and Rehabilitation in Arlington and was an active volunteer, calling bingo and participating in many activities to help enrich the lives of the residents who were his friends and neighbors. He loved his Dalworth family and that was his home.

Phil's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Dalworth. You helped enrich his life more than you will ever know and the care and concern you provided him helped him live a full and active life. May God bless all of you.

Phil was preceded in death by his loving partner, Betty J. Bean; parents, Bob and Peggy; stepmother, Betty; stepsister, Lizabeth; and brother, Steven.

Survivors: His sons, Christopher and Stephen of Keller; sister, Nancy of Plano; Bill Parham, Annette Parham, Mike and Pam Combs and Jon Parham of Kingfisher, Okla.; R.D. and Corky Kinsch of Topeka, Kan.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
