Ricky Bain

Ricky D. Bain

27 May, 19539 October, 2019

Ricky D Bain, age 66 of Bryan, TX, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 9, 2019. He was surrounded by Debbie Bain (his wife of 44 years), Daphne & Chris Tull (daughter & son-in-law), and Jared & Alysia Bain (son & daughter-in-law).

Rick was so loved by his wife, children & grandkids, who lovingly referred to him as “fun Papaw”. He always had big toys around to play with including dragsters, show cars, motorcycles, golf cars, jet skis, boats, RV, etc (you get the picture.) He kept everyone laughing anytime he took trips with his sisters and brother, maybe the result of watching too much of The Three Stooges as a child! Next to his family, Rick loved racing and all things car-related. He was a mechanic by profession for a big part of his life and a mechanic by heart since his first race car, a Malibu super sport (which he got plenty of tickets speeding on the streets of Abilene!) He was a business man through & through owning several businesses throughout his career, and always looking for a good deal (a lot of times with the help of his best buddy, Phil Thweatt, who was a faithful friend for 25+ years). If you called him, he would help you and could fix anything. He was well respected in the community and people would always tell us what a good guy he was.

He is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Bain, mother, Beatrice Lovelady, and granddaughter, Rachel Bain. Surviving family include his wife, Debbie Bain, daughter & son-in-law, Daphne & Chris Tull of Houston, TX, son & daughter-in-law, Jared & Alysia Bain of Katy, TX, sisters & brother-in-laws, Karen & Audie Meredith of Burkburnett, TX, Brenda & Steve Richards of Cross Plains, TX, brother & sister-in-law, Jon & Kelly Bain of Palestine, TX, grandchildren, Jonathan, Bethany & Daniel Tull, and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
