Marsha Harris

 
Marsha Turnbull Harris, 56, of Abilene, Texas passed away Tuesday January 6, 2009 after remaining in a coma for over nineteen years as a result of an auto accident in Atascosa County, TX in August 1989. A family graveside service was held Friday, January 9th followed by a memorial service at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Abilene, with Rev. Greg Kennedy and Dr. Sam Brinkman officiating. Marsha was born on December 23, 1952 in Abilene, TX to Dr. Marshall Darwin Turnbull and Annadell Harkey Turnbull. She graduated from Cooper High School in 1971 and then went on to graduate from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Marsha taught school in Spring Branch School District near Houston. In 1978, she married Martin Reese Harris, Jr. of San Antonio and Tilden, TX. She taught in the McMullen County School District and served on the school board. She was also active in the Texas Hereford Association Auxiliary. Preceding Marsha in death was her mother, Annadell Turnbull, and one brother. She is survived by her father. Dr. Marshall Turnbull of Abilene; one son Jason T. Harris of Austin; two daughters, Sarah A. Harris of Austin and Rebekah Ray and her husband Chance of Big Foot, TX; a grandson Colton Ray; her children's father Martin R. Harris, Jr.; her brother Andrew Turnbull and his wife Kim of Abilene and her sister Lora Brinkman and her husband Dr. Sam Brinkman of Abilene.
