I have a great respect for Dennis, He came by and visited me before he died. We had wonderful time remembering the good times of High School. I wish I could be more like Dennis. What a special man.

What fun to remember Dennis. And to see Jeff's post makes me laugh. Those two were such good friends and tricksters together. Dennis seemed to go out of his way to make people feel good. He and I chatted one day in Star Valley not long before he passed away. We were at a 4th of July parade and life was hard for him by then. But, he wanted to know all about me and my family and he wanted me to know all about his too. He was happy and full of love for life and his family. I would say he was able to prepare for death in a way that made him feel content and at peace. Those that are left behind are always that ones that carry the hurt. I hope his children know what an awesome dad they have and how much he really loved them.

If the true measure of a man manifests itself with how that man handles adversity, then Dennis was a giant among men. Despite the challenges he faced he stayed positive and was concerned for others wellbeing. It was an impressive example to me.

Dennis will remain as one of my children's favorite high school friends. When Dennis had to spend most of his time in bed, my kids would still love to go visit him and hear his stories (stories that would make everyone laugh and make me turn red)! Dennis chose to focus on the good things in life, including his children and friends. We would visit him with the intention of cheering him up and we would always leave being the ones that were "cheered". I will long appreciate and love Dennis for his optimism, love for others, and amazing sense of humor. I look forward to visiting with Dennis in that next life.
