My brother Patrick had to live through so much in such a short life. He had a brain tumor when he was young which affected his eyesight. Only later when he had a huge seizure and had to be medivac to Hawaii did it all come out. He had surgery to remove the tumor and it caused him excruciating pain. The tumor grew again and he had to go through chemo and radiation therapy. Long term the effect of his treatment affected his growth, response time, etc. I remembered when he was on OHS's Mock Trial team in his senior year, the last year of OHS. OHS was in the championship playoffs and it was his birthday. OHS won the match and the right to represent Guam in the nationals. He was so excited and hyped up that early the next day he suffered a seizure and was hospitalized. He quickly got well so he was able to make the trip to Nashville.

Years later, he finally decides to pursue his Associates degree at GCC, then fell ill. He was diagnosed with a rare lung disease that once diagnosed the prognosis is 2 years to live. He quickly deteriorated during those two years, but he kept pursuing his degree. He was able to attend his commencement exercise in his wheelchair and oxygen tank in tow. Within 2 weeks after he received his degree, Patrick died.

Not once through all his pain has he ever complained.

The youngest in my family, my brother was an example to us. He showed us how to keep going and live life until God calls us.

I love you Patrick.

Your sis.
Geraldine
