Janet was born in Alamosa on September 4, 1944 and lived in Alamosa for the majority of her life until her untimely death September 22, 1993 of Lou Gehrigs Disease.
Janet was my friend and confidant throughout the years. She married Alan Simpson in 1961 and they had 4 children together. She and Alan eventually bought and worked a ranch South of Alamosa that Alan still has today.
When Janet had her kids mostly raised she enrolled and graduated from Adams State College and became a 1st grade teacher for 5 years. She loved teaching and after her death the school where she worked, Polston Elementary, named the library in her honor, "The Janet Simpson Library." Today Janet has 8 grandson's and 1 granddaughter.
I have many memories of Janet from school and after we both were married raising families. She was a great friend.
Here's thinking of you Janet!
