Courtney Solomon

Information Technician 2nd Class, Courtney Mercardo Solomon, affectionately known as "Merk" by family and friends, was born April 16, 1981 to Catherine Gordon Solomon and Michael Solomon, Sr. in Albany, Georgia.  At an early age he joined New Testament Baptist Church of Albany, Georgia. In 1999, he graduated from Westover High School. "Merk" went on to graduate from South Georgia Technical College in Computer Information Systems in 2001. In September 2003, he joined the U.S. Navy. In his two years of service, he received several awards and certificates. Shortly before departing he had earned his level E-5 in the Navy. Other awards include the Albany Herald's 1997-1998 All-Region 1-AAA Football Team Honorable Mention Defensive End, Goal Nominee member in 2001; and National Vocational Technical Honor Society member, September 2001. On December 4, 2003, Courtney "Merk" married Ferlisha "FeFe" Yvonne James in Oglethorpe, Georgia. A beaultiful life closed on Sunday, November 27, 2005, when Courtney Mercardo Solomon answered the Heavenly Father's summons.

Merk, I remember when you & the guys from the hood use to sneak in our backyard & jump on our trampoline late at night, even after we told yall not too!! I also remember you & J.D joking on my dad calling him pimp Mr. T!!
