Gail Robinson Twilegar passed away on March 20, 2020. She is now at peace, after a challenging battle with her health over the past year. Gail was born on April 29,1947 in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Highland High School in 1965. She is survived by her nephew, James Curd and his children; Alexis and Rachael, and her many friends, whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her Father; Clyde Robinson, her mother; Dorothy Ada Robinson, and her sister; Sue Robinson Curd, and her niece Linda Curd Hacker.
Gail attended New Mexico State University before moving to California in 1969, where she worked as a Real Estate Appraiser for many years. She moved back to Albuquerque in 2010 to be with family and friends. During her retirement, Gail volunteered her time at different organizations and Church and had a contagious laugh. Gail was always ready to help out where needed. She also enjoyed the productions at Popejoy Hall.
Due to the Corona virus, the Memorial service will be held at a later date, at Riverside Funeral Home at 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE

I knew Gail at Highland, of course, but I never thought of us as close. So when I showed up for the reunuion when we turned 65, I was stunned by Gail's greeting and friendship. You'd have thought that we were best buds. I searched for an obituary but couldn't find one. Can anyone tell me when she died and how? I'll miss her smile and warmth.

Several of us were lucky enough to see Gail just days before her passing. It is with a very heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to an old friend, for me anyway, since third grade. In talking with old friends, we all knew that we never fit the friendship slot for Gail like her dear, dear friend Judy Mead. Our remembrances were varied and sweet. Gail seemed happy and optimistic when she was with her longtime friends and appreciated the dinners, lunches and other visits. Her dog, Desi, was by her side at every waking moment. He had made it his life’s goal to guard Gail with all his might (he was a chihuahua) and he did a really good job. Upon Gail’s passing Desi was overcome with grief and joined her in death. Gail had a wonderful relationship with Janet, Mrs. and Dr. Schultz. She helped the Schultz’as a chauffeur and companion for a while after Janet’s death. During my last visit with Gail, Helene and I took her some stung origami peace cranes that had been signed and decorated by the Reunion Committee Members and others that were folded by classmates. Each crane represented a wish of peace for her and she said she enjoyed looking at them. "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart." - Gandhi

Gail and I were in each others weddings. ( the bestest of friends).We shared so many wonderful adventures together. I visited Gail a few times in the last few years of her life. I am from the Kansas City area and I was so sorry I was not able to be with her the last month of her life. ( this pandemic has robbed us of so many important moments). We spoke of old times and shared many, many laughs. She was my warrior.
I lost my husband before Gail passed away, and of course knowing Gail, she was busy consoling me as she was fighting for her life. I loved her deeply and I am still learning from her, her courage was boundless.
