Jerry L. Behrend – 54, loving husband, father, son, friend and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Betty Behrend, sons, Jeffrey Behrend and James Behrend, all of Los Lunas; mother Mae Behrend; sister, Roberta Behrend, both of Albuquerque; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Behrend in 1984. Jerry was an eight year Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. He loved to build hot rods and was an artist who created many things for family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, in the University Boulevard Chapel, 1111 University Boulevard NE with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lunch Association of NM 216 Truman NE, 87108.
