Gene R. Spence passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; daughter, Emily Villas; son, Matt Miller and his wife, Kristie; daughter, Erin Parks and her husband, Tom; twelve grandchildren, and brother, Duane Spence and his wife, Terri and their daughters. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Mazelle; and son-in-law, Ernie Villas. He was an avid model railroader and member of ASHOME. Gene enjoyed playing guitar, violin and fiddle, as well as giving his granddaughter violin lessons. He recently retired from Bernalillo County after 25 years. His biggest joy was being with his family and playing with trains. Services have been planned for Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 2:30 pm at French-Wyoming Chapel.
