DECEASED ADAMINSTRATOR - JEFF DIETZE, FHHS and WEST POTOMAC HIGH SCHOOLS
From WPHS DSA, Matt MacDonald:
I have some sad news to pass along, and I know many of you know this person. Mr. Jeff Dietze, the first Director of Student Activities at West Potomac High School, passed away overnight.
A member of our West Potomac Hall of Fame, he was known by many as the “Dean of Student Activities Directors” mentoring many new young DSA’s, including myself! Some of his highlights over his career:
*He developed varsity competition schedules for all sports in 1985 and merged the existing athletic booster clubs into the new Wolverine Athletic Booster Club
*He was very involved in the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association on the local, state, and national levels.
*Through his leadership, Virginia was one of the first states to have a national certified coaching education program for its high school coaches
*He was inducted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame in 2008 and the NIAAA Hall of Fame in 2012
May his memory always be a blessing
