Lori Lynn Markley

January 8, 1967 – June 30, 2024

Lori Lynn Markley was a loyal wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. After a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer and Early Onset Alzheimer’s, she found peace on Sunday, June 30th, 2024, at age 57.

Born in Washington State on January 8th, 1967, she was the spirited daughter of Tom and Diane O’Hara, brother Thomas Steven O’Hara, and sister Jeneanne O’Hara Cahill. Upon graduating from Fort Hunt High School, Lori earned a B.A. in Sociology from George Mason University. After meeting and marrying her husband, David L. Markley, Lori began her career as an analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working at FBI Headquarters from 1999 to 2014.

Lori’s proudest achievement was raising her son, Aidan David, and daughter, Amanda Diane. Lori loved planning birthday parties for Aidan and Amanda, being a fierce advocate for them and their well-being, as well as making sure that when doing something fun, she would enjoy it just as much as them. Lori loved her family, and her favorite vacations were summer beach trips to the Outer Banks, which in addition to David, Aidan, and Amanda, included her parents and sisters’ family, husband Troy Cahill, and nephews Jack, Will and Sam.

Lori will be was honored in a service at Demaine Funeral Home on July 12th, 2024. Visiting hour will be at 3 p.m., service at 4 p.m., followed by a reception to celebrate her life and share fun memories from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, as a tribute to Lori, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/
