It is with heavy hearts and a flood of cherished memories that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Anthony Marcus Lawrence. Born on January 14, 1965, Anthony was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Growing up in the embrace of a military family, Anthony's early years were marked by adventure and exploration as they traveled across the United States and ventured to foreign lands like France and Germany. He was the baby of four siblings, born to serviceman Anthony Lawrence and Hilda Lorene Lawrence, and this familial bond became the foundation of his unwavering loyalty and humility.

As fate would have it, the Lawrence family eventually settled in Alexandria, Virginia, where Anthony's journey continued to unfold. He attended and graduated from Fort Hunt High School, a place that witnessed his rise as a remarkable athlete. Anthony's passion for sports blossomed on the fields and courts, where he excelled in track, basketball, and football. His dedication was rewarded with a collection of medals, trophies, and division titles that highlighted his prowess in each sport he touched.

With his heart set on the game of basketball, Anthony's talents paved his way to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, where he continued to shine both on the basketball court and the football field. Upon graduation, he returned home and embarked on a journey in computer engineering. Anthony's expertise in this field became a beacon of guidance for family and friends who sought his assistance with technical challenges. His ability to troubleshoot and set up computers was only matched by his genuine willingness to help.

But beyond the technical world, Anthony found solace and joy in his passions. He was an avid collector of comic books, a creator of race cars and tracks, and a true enthusiast of computer building. His ability to bring his imagination to life through these hobbies was a testament to his creativity and dedication.

Anthony's love for basketball didn't stop at playing; he also shared his knowledge and passion with younger generations as a coach of the girls' basketball team at Edison High School. Under his wise guidance, the team achieved numerous division titles and championships, leaving a legacy of success and camaraderie.

While Anthony was a man of few words, his presence spoke volumes. The loyalty, sincerity, and humility he radiated touched everyone he met. As a son, brother, uncle, and friend, he brought laughter, joy, and a deep sense of connection to all. His spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of his sisters Gwendolyn Lorene, Giselle Victoria, and Antoinette Yvonne; his nieces Kara Yvette and Janai Lorene; his nephew Frederick Douglas, and his great niece Kiylah Victoria and great nephews Kimori Anthony and Zakai Anthony Charles.

On August 2nd, 2023, Anthony Marcus Lawrence's earthly journey came to a close, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering humility. May his spirit find peace in his final resting place, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to live with the same warmth and authenticity that he shared with the world.
