DECEASED ALUM: STEVE HANNAH, FHHS '67
It is with the greatest sadness that I report the death of our classmate, and my friend, Steve Hannah.
Steve died Saturday, August 20th at his home in Bradenton Florida after a months long battle with Leukemia. His wife Virginia, his son Kyle and daughter Jessica were with him at the time of his passing.
After Fort Hunt, Steve attended and graduated from the University of Hawaii and then joined the US Air Force where he flew a great many types of jets and also served as a flight instructor on T-38 Jet Fighter trainers.
During President Reagan’s term in office Steve served with the 89th Airlift Wing, which is based at Andrews Air Force base and includes Air Force One and other planes used to transport members of the government around the world.
After retiring from the Air Force, Steve worked as a Pilot for Exxon Mobile Corporation, flying their executives from the headquarters in Houston Texas although he continued to live in Virginia.
Steve loved to fly and traveled all over the world in the role of pilot.
He is survived by his Mother Madeline, his sister Leslie (FHHS -66) and his brother Bill along with his immediate family.

Steve was one of my best friends in high school and we managed to spend some time together in Hawaii and while he was stationed in Arizona. He was not only a good friend, but was one of the finest men I have been privileged to know in my life.To learn of his passing has shocked and saddened me. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies go out to Mrs. Hannah (Steve's mom), Les, Bill, and to Steve's wife and children.
