I am deeply saddened to hear of yet another Smithwick brothers passing.
When i think about my days at Fort Hunt HS, I remember some special times shared with each of them.
Im sad to think that when we are young, we don't always get the chance to convey that.
Bill was always so funny. Irreverent and sarcastic like none other.
Yet, he had his big sister Suzy make my date and his, dinner on our prom night '79 at their home on Collingwood. The pecan pie was out of this world !!!
Bob was always so kind and generous. Thoughtful and sensitive. Shy with us gals.
I always felt safe being around him, even though he carried a heavy burden on his shoulders.
I will continue to remember them both fondly.
May these sweet brothers rest in peace.

Sue, what you have written is beautiful. Very kind and thoughtful words. I recall Bob the same way with his great sense of wit! Thank you for writing this. All of his family, especially his son Luke, are in my prayers and thoughts.
