In Memory

Christopher "Chris" Crain

Christopher Chris Crain

I am so very sad to report the passing on June 11th, 2011, of our classmate and friend, Chris Crain.  No further details are known at this time, but please watch for updates pending any news for memorial and funeral services.

Chris attended our 30-year reunion and had reconnected with several classmates through Facebook, where he enjoyed posting hilarious "news" stories from The Onion.  Last October, we attempted but failed to meet up with each other in the crowd at the Jon Stewart rally held in DC.  Chris possessed a wonderful sense of humor and a caring and gentle spirit.  We are so very sorry to hear of his passing.

Update from Chris' brother, Rick:

Chris wrote that he did not want any memorial service and that he wanted to be cremated. We followed his wishes. We have suggested to other friends to have a party/gathering where they can express their times with Chris. His ashes will be taken to New Hampshire to a friends property he loved to visit and spread out to "enjoy" the surroundings.

Chris passed away from a recurrent cancer which had spread to his lungs.

Chris - you always possessed a gentle, kind and inspiring spirit.  You are certainly in a much better place, but will undoubtedly be missed by many.

I will never forget your being my prom date senior year!  You and I along with Denise's prom date. Paul Daly, and I believe a couple of other people camped out on the beach at Chincoteague.  We awoke not only to the beauty of the area, but were also surrounded by the wild ponies!  An awesome memory!

RIP Chris - you inspired many.

Terry,

This message is from Chris's brother Rick and asked that I share:

Thank you very much for your kind words and getting a hold of me, I truly appreciate it. The cancer had spread to his lungs.

Chris never, ever, never had an unkind word or opinion about anyone or anything. He was so mellow, and yet quite funny, ready to crack you up when you most needed a laugh. Thank you for making Mr. Ahern's French Class bearable for me with your jokes, and the many cigarette talks in the Smoking Lounge, back in High School. Sorry we did not keep in closer contact. You were already Zen when Zen wasn't cool. Free Fall with Angels Chris. OM
