Jackie was my best friend from the time we were 4 years old through high school, living across the street from each other on Croton Drive. We were inseparable those early years, and were like sisters. I will always remember her energy, kindness, love of life and beautiful smile. Summer days were always spent together walking to the pool in Waynewood, riding bikes, playing dodgeball in the streets with other kids, listening to music, climbing trees, and just running around! She went on vacation with me to Hershey Park a couple times, and I went with her and her family to Rehobeth Beach. I was very lucky to have such a great friend in her.I visited her twice in Florida once she moved there with her family in 1979. It was great to see her and her mom and reminisce about our old life in Virginia.
I last was in contact with Jackie in 1989, before I moved overseas for 5 years. After moving back to the U.S., having my son in 1995, and moving 2 more times, I started to search for Jackie through the internet with no luck. It was only last year I finally got the sad news she had passed away. It deeply saddened me that I didn't know this sooner. She is forever in my heart, a true friend, and one I talk about often with my young daughter. I miss her very much, and wish we had had the opportunity to re-connect as adults. Fond memories, rest in peace my dear friend Jack.
