Linda Carol Holloway Holland
COLUMBIA-Linda Carol Holloway Holland, 62, born on August 1, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Tom and Betty Holloway, passed away after a short illness at her residence on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Her husband, Michael T. Holland, predeceased her on February 28, 2008. She is survived by her brother, Tom and sister-in-law, Debra and a host of friends and extended family.
Linda graduated with a BA degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina in 1971 where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She then went on to obtain a Masters in Teaching in Geography from USC in 1973. She was a manager in USC's Computer Sciences Department from 1975 until her retirement in 2005.
Linda and Mike enjoyed traveling around the world, visiting Greece, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Scotland, Great Britain and sailing on Windjammer cruises throughout the Caribbean. They also enjoyed throwing parties at their residence in Lexington and sharing good times with their friends over many a Happy Hour.
A memorial service for Linda will be held on Sunday, September 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tom and Deb Holloway's Columbia residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made by a donation to your local hospice. The family would like to thank the staff of Abbey Road Hospice for their wonderful care of Linda and the family. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
