Carol was a cool chick, mature beyond her years. What I remember most about Carol was sitting back in Social Studies class and just watching Carol and our teacher, Mr. Blevins, flirting with each other. Mr. Blevins always referred to Carol as "Miss Black".

One day, for some reason, we were studying the Battle of the Bulge. During that class, Mr. Blevins winked, smiled and said, "Miss Black - we are all fighting the battle of the bulge, now aren't we?"

For some reason, Mr. Blevins did not make it into the yearbook. I remember his concern about not being considered "essential" to TJHS and was, therefore, destined for Viet Nam. I would have loved the opportunity to sit down with Carol and reminisce over a beer.
