Judy, I had the unpleasent circumstance of learning of Lynn's passing just two days ago. Working the polls I engaged a nice women working for the "other" side. We chatted and eventually introduced ourselves. Her last name was Slavin and I commiserated with her on the teasing she probably got (Straight of course gets it's share). She then explained that her maiden name was worse, "Plough". I immediately said I went to grade, Jr. High and High School with a Lynn Plough, "any relation?" She exclaimed yes! Pattie Slavin was Lynn's older sister (grad, from Woodson '64). She said Lynn graduated from Va. Tech, went to grad school in enviromental science, married later (43) and had one child. She died from breast cancer 8/25/10. I remember her as a tall, graceful, somewhat soft spoken person. Mike S.
I have very fond memories of hanging out with Lyn later in high school. Going for runs at the track and listening to folk music recordings at her home - I remember she introduced me to Mississippi John Hurt. She was a gentle person with a great sense of humor. So sorry to learn of her passing.

Very sorry to hear that Lynn passed away. We were pals back in grade school and roamed our neighborhood together as kids. RIP Lynn.

Thanks for letting me know more about Lynn's passing Mike. I also remember her older sister. It's such a shame that her life was cut so short!
