Doroteo Gomez Jr., 56, of Alice, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2006. A graduate of Alice High School, "Teo" played varsity football from 1965 through 1968. He had a love for his dogs and also for roosters. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esmeralda C. Gomez.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Gomez of Alice, Texas; four sons, Jeffrey Scott Gomez, Teo Gomez III of Austin, Texas, Bobby (Marliana) Gomez and J.D. Gomez of Alice, Texas; a stepson, Cruz (Jessica) Perez III of Alice; his father, Doroteo Gomez Sr. of Alice; two sisters, Gloria (Eudoxio) Morin and Delia (Israel) Canales of Alice; 11 grandchildren and numerous aunts and uncles.

A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Chapel A, Ruben M. Garcia and Sons Funeral Services. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery.
