Obituary for Ralph Peterson
Ralph Peterson age 75 of Purcell passed away on February 24, 2026 in Oklahoma City. Ralph Edward Peterson was born on July 6, 1950 in Beeville, Texas to Frank Bernard Peterson and Billie Jean Peterson (Stevens). He grew up in south Texas and joined the oil field work force after graduating high school. Ralph attended college off on on during his early oil field days, where he enjoyed meeting new people and learning along the way. Work brought Ralph to Oklahoma where he met a young secretary named Katharine Ann Poindexter, they quickly fell in love and were married in 1976. The young couple moved around Oklahoma wherever work led Ralph from Clinton, to Mustang, and Yukon. Ralph retired from his sales position at Applied Industrial, and relocated to Purcell where he was able to spend time working with his horses and cattle. In his spare time, he liked to fish, golf, and spend time with his buddies. He also loved tinkering with and driving his 1965 GTO convertible whenever he could. Ralph was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, and Pappy who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ralph was preceded in death by his grandparents Mabel and Elmer Stevens, and his parents Frank and Billie Jean Peterson.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Peterson of the home, his brothers Steve Peterson of Brownsville, TX and Keith Peterson of Corpus Christi, Texas, his children Travis Peterson of Edmond, and Steffany Hodges and husband Brandon of Purcell. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Kelby Hodges, Kallon Hodges, and a host of family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Monday March 2, 2026 at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Purcell.
