Walter Ray Kinard - Class Of 1970 VIEW PROFILE

Walter Ray (Lurch, Walt, Walker, Pops, Grumpy, PawPaw) Kinard, age 67, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at University Medical Center Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born in Rosenberg, Texas on February 13, 1951 to Bonnie Irene and Ira Kinard, Jr.

Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being at the beach. He was a welder by trade but a jokester at heart. He loved his family and friends very much in his own way. He loved to barbeque and go for long motorcycle rides on his Harley with Carole and friends. He always enjoyed being outdoors. He believed that hard work would overcome any challenge. No matter where we all went with him, we ALWAYS came home with a heck of a story.

Walter was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Bonnie Kinard, and a brother, Darrell Kinard.

Walter will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Carole; his five children, Julie (Joshua) Bunch, Lisa (Chris) Weir, Kristin Sanderford, Chris Kinard, and Jimmy (Kassey) Kinard; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Lauren, Camille, Rylee, Waylon, Luke, Kyle, Ethan, and Emma; one sister, Kathy (Bobby) Miller, and one brother, Neal (Cindy) Kinard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Alice with Pastor Charles Childers and Pastor Zach Tharp officiating.

Services are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas 78332.
