Berta Chapa Garcia, 64, devoted wife and beloved mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 19, 2018 surrounded by her immediate family, in her daughter's home in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born in San Diego, Texas on August 4, 1953 to the late Agapito and Rosenda Chapa. She spent her first four years in Benavides, Texas and then the family moved to Alice, Texas, where she attended school and graduated from Alice High School in 1971. She moved to Corpus Christi while she went to business college and returned to Alice where she worked as a secretary for the State of Texas for 34 years. Also left behind to cherish her memories are six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Trafton, Jordan Trafton, Emmy Estrada, Olivia Underwood, Madeline Underwood, and Jonah Underwood. Other survivors include two sisters-in-Law: Minerva Chapa and Rachel Alvarez and a great number of nieces and nephews that were special to her and who reciprocated that love for her as well.
