
Eric was born on June 17, 1963. He died on June 7, 1998. He was 34 when he passed away from a sudden heart attack. He lived in Alamosa, Colorado at the time of his death. He was survived by his wife, Deb. After high school, he attended and graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. He taught high school history, and coached cross country and track at Sargent High School in Alamosa. He was very beloved by his students and cross country runners, and after his passing, they named the Regional Cross Country meet after him. It is now known as the Eric Wolff Memorial Meet. In addition to that, there are two awards that are named after him. His high school hands out an award to an athlete at their school each year in his name, and the state of Colorado will begin handing out an award to a top coach in the state each year in Eric's name.
