Richard VanHorn II, of Allegan, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital. Mr. VanHorn was born August 4, 1970 in Allegan, the son of Richard and Bonnie (Page) VanHorn. Rich graduated from Allegan High School in 1989. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served 5 years including Desert Storm. He worked for Perrigo Co. in Allegan for several years and was currently employed by CRB Engineering in Kalamazoo. Surviving are his wife, Ronda, 6 children; Tyler, Damon, Brandon, Logan, Ian and Colton, his mother and father, Bonnie and Kenny Ward, his brother Casey and Merrianne Ward of Ohio, grandmothers, Olive VanHorn of Allegan, and Doris Ward of North Carolina, 1/2 sister, Laura VanHorn of GA, father-in-law, Ron and Pat Weaver of Allegan, mother-in-law, Vicki Weaver and Ray Lewis of Allegan, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Jeffrey and Brian, and his grandparents, Dorothy Sulzener, Ed Page, George VanHorn and Ken Ward Sr. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral will be held on Monday at 11 am. Pastor G. Patrick White will officiate. Interment Poplar Hill Cemetery, Monterey Twp. Memorials may be made to Rich’s Children, checks payable to Ronda VanHorn.
