In 6th grade we had a contest to see who was the fastest. Both Maurice and I won and became the captains of two relay teams pitted against each other. Though Maurice's team won, he was extremely gracious about it. He did not boast, but just smiled that special grin that carried him through the years letting others know that he was a man of God sharing his peace and love wherever, whenever. Thank you, Maurice, for showing me the meaning of sportsmanship.
