Thomas Joseph Niemeyer, 48, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010.
He was born June 19, 1962, in Alton.
He married Jonna Michelle Ball on June 23, 1999, in Jerseyville. She survives.
He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, great brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time on his farm and with his family. He was also a historian who loved to participate and attend Civil War re-enactments, and he was known for his fun sense of humor. He was a truck driver for Sysco from 1993 to 2010. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and friends.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his parents, Paul and Esther Novack and Rosemary Niemeyer, all of Alton; five daughters, Sarah Mayhew and her husband, Coy Hill, of Murrayville, Ill., Kelsie Niemeyer of Palmyra, Robin Allman and Lindsey Niemeyer, both of Wood River, and Rebecca Allman of Bethalto; three grandchildren, Dalen and Caleb Hill and Kegan Bailey and one expected grandchild; three sisters, Peggy Niemeyer of Cottage Hills, Cheryl Sanders of Pawnee, Ill., and Pam Henry of Godfrey; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Jane Novack of Alton and Rowland and Jennifer Novack of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Niemeyer; a brother, George Niemeyer; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Sanders.
Visitation will be from 3 until services begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Paynic Home for Funerals. Father Tom Liebler will officiate.
