Charles Chuck W Georges , Deacon Called to God, fortified with the Sacrament of the Holy Mother Church, Holy Thursday, March 28, 2013, Chuck was 70 years old.

 

Beloved husband of Barbara C. Georges (nee Philpot), dearest father and father-in-law of Christine M. (Jack). Hartnagel, Julie E. (Maury) Frein and Chip R. (Amanda) Georges. Loving son of Wilma M. Georges and the late Charles L. Georges. Dear PaPa to Maria, Kelly and Jack Hartnagel, III, Charlie and Nathan Frein and Max and Evee Georges.

 

Brother to Jeanne Hansen, Janet E. (Sonny) Ussery, Robert J. (Ruth) Georges and Marie E. Georges, Dear nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Chuck was ordained a Deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 1989. He served the good people of St. John Bosco Parish, Christ the King, St. Lawrence the Martyr, Our Lady of the Pillar and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Deacon Chuck was a good and faithful servant, performing weddings, funerals, baptisms as well as assisting priests at Mass. Chuck was an avid golfer, blessed to be able to attend all four major golf tournaments.

 

Chuck and Barb were married June 1, 1968 at the Old Cathedral, starting their family in University City and raising their children in West St. Louis County. The Georges family has been blessed with many good friends especially The Chaputs and Hartnagels and their extended families.

 

We would also like to thank the M.D.s, nursing staff and care providers associated with Mercy Hospital especially Drs. John Finnie and Stephen Sanders for their compassionate and tender care. Chuck was a self made man, eager to succeed, wise in his work and loving to his family and friends.

 

Please remember in your donations the Diaconate Community, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, David Pratt Cancer Center at Mercy, Action for Autism or send flowers to someone you love. Well done, good and faithful servant. Services: Funeral from the ORTMANN-STIPANOVICH Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, Tues., April 2, 10 a.m. to Holy Spirit Church for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation from 2-8 p.m. Monday.

I remember Chuck and his always cheerful greetings in High School, he was fun to be around.

Chuck lived a good full life being a great Father and friend and serving his Country and his Lord.
