Marilyn's Obituary post about Allen Tuetken really shook me. Allen gave so much to AHS, to the Reunion Committee and to the city of Alton. He was a life long friend to me and I believe to so many others. Although we lived nearly a thousand miles apart for years, we stayed in touch through personal email messages. Allen was one of those special, giving people who was a true giver. I pause as I type because I feel that I cannot put my feelings together to justify how much I liked and respected him. May You Rest In Eternal Peace, Allen.

As I read about Allen it was hard to grasp that he was gone. The last time I saw him he was still the energentic, pleasant guy we always knew and I thought he would possibly be the last one standing of us. I turned off my computer at first because being in shock I knew I had no words for this, now I still have no words to do him justice. He served his community, was a main stay on the reunion committee, was a runner and a very pleasant and fun person to be around. He will be missed by many, I send my condolonces to all of his close loved ones.

It is with the greatest of sorrow that I acknowledge the passing of Allen.  He along with others,

was the heartbeat of the class of 1960 and held a special place in my heart as one of the most upbeat and kind hearted persons.  Always cheerful and positive in his attitude.  His service to the community will long be remembered.

It is with a heavy heart that I read of Allen's passing. We have been friends for over 70 years both going to the same church, same schools, and working at the same police station. I will miss his wit and charming ways of talking to people. He will be greatly missed.  Stephen A. Britt  02/09/23
