Delores “Fronie” (Armstead)  R. Epps, 71, departed this life on Thursday, Oct 24, 2013, at her home with her family at her side.

Delores was born Jan. 12, 1942, to the late Fulton P. and Dorothy (Russell) Armstead. She graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1960. Ms. Armstead married the late Herschel Epps, Jr. and to this union two daughters were born.

Delores was employed with the Madison County and Evansville Indiana Housing Authorities until retirement; she also was well known cosmetologist for many years.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Julie A. Epps-Miliken and Marla M. Epps; two sisters, Josephine (Stinky) Hodges and Marie Washington of Augusta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Miliken, Jr. and Jonathon H. (LaKeisha) Miliken; two great-grandchildren, Caylei and Kadence Miliken; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine James.

 

Visitation will convene from 10 a.m. until time of celebration of life service at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Harrison Funeral Chapel. Pastor Danny Holiday will officiate. Cremation rites accorded.

Delores was a beautiful girl and a beloved and cherished woman. No better epitaph can be written for anyone. She will be missed.

well said Marilyn, she was a beautiful person. She was married to one of my most respected classmates ( Herschel Epps) may they be reunited once again. To the family, I am sorry for your loss, you had two wonderful parents and their memories will be with you until such time as you are reunited with them once again.

Donna Atteberry (Crawford)

Delores was a sweet, humerous person.  Sat next to her in many classes since our last name started with the same initial.  She was a neat girl and I enjoyed knowing her.  My condolences to her family.
