While we did not know each other, we shared a common bond of going to AHS together, and as your classmate it saddens me that you are gone from us. Rest in peace dear classmate

Alice Faye Greene was a good student. She often made the honor roll at Alton High and was awarded an AHS Alpha with a GPA 3.031 at graduation in 1960. Thanks to Alvin Johnson's considerable efforts we have her funeral handout which we can now put up on this site. We remember Alice as a smart, kind, sweet young woman much deserving of love and respect. We now know that she received that throughout her life. Rest in peace dear classmate.

The following was printed on Alice's funeral service handout provided by Alvin Johnson.

Our Mom

Our Mom was a special, loving and caring person. She was a light of love that shined bright. Her love was strong, and it strengthened us and many others, during difficult times. Her entire life was a sacrifice for others. She would always go without in order to help her children and others. She demonstrated the love of GOD. It feels as though a part of us has been taken away, but the love of GOD that we share grows stronger within us each day. This love of GOD which she instilled in us weill endure forever.

With all our love,

Bobby, Billy, Roslyn and Angie
