Walter M. Mawdsley died in St. Louis MO on April 10, 2004. He was born in Alton, IL to Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Mawdsley on October 20, 1940.

Walter was educated in the Alton Public Schools and graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1960. While in high school, Walter injured a finger while working in a sheet metal shop and was hospitalized briefly. 

He lived in Alton after graduation but entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1965. While in the Marines he served his country in Viet Nam and attained the rank of LCPL U.S. Marine Corps. He is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Section 1J Site 500.
