Brenda (Wilkens) Mitchell
KAMPSVILLE
Brenda K. Mitchell, 64, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 4, 1942, daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Walters) Wilkins. Her marriage to Clarence L. "Les" Mitchell took place Nov. 22, 1959. He died July 5, 2004.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Darrell Kroeschel of Medora, Pam and Bob Cairns of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Cindy and Richard Spurgeon of Toledo, IL.; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Sheri Mitchell of Kampsville; 14 grandchildren ; two great-grandchildren ; four sisters, Carolyn Suits of Independence, KS., Denola Martin of Grants, NM., Mary McGill of Dunsmeir, CA, and Connie Pierce of Owensboro, KY.; and two brothers, Robert Walters of McAllen, TX, and Jack Sims of Grafton, IL.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her paretns.
Visitation was at Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Alton.
Pastor Mike Paddock officiated.

Burial followed at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials were suggested to Blessing Hospice in Quincy, Il.

I knew Brenda from junior high and on through high school.She was a nice gal and we had lots of little talks.
I ran into her about 10 or 15 years after we were out of
school. She was very happy and told me that she had
a baby girl who was born on Valentine's Day.
