John Gray
ALTON -- John Michael Gray, 55, passed away at ll:02 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 1998, at Christian Hospital Northeast.
He was employed as a roll grinder for Granite City Steel.
He was born Sept. 25, 1942, in Alton, a son of John Gray of Olivette, Mich., and the late Rita (Walling) Gray.
Surviving in addition to his father is a son, Douglas Gray; a sister, Susan Gray of Great Falls, Mont.; and a companion, Madeleine Sykes of Alton.
There was no visitation. Committal services were at UpperAltonCemetery, with the Rev. Daren Carstens officating.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Michael Gray was a really neat guy. I remember him so well. He was not only in my classes but also in my neighborhood. One year in grade school, he sent me a sweet valentine and I shall never forget those words on that simple little valentine.Rest In Peace dear friend. You are missed.
