January 4, 1941 — December 16, 2024

Franklin

William M. “Mike” Forrester, 83, of Franklin, transitioned from his earthly life to his eternal reward surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Atrium Medical Center.

Mike was born January 4, 1941, to parents William and Elaine (Bennett) Forrester in Alton, Illinois, both of whom preceded him in death.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Mike worked in the corrugated paper industry beginning with the Alton Box Corporation and eventually becoming the plant manager for Akers Packaging Service in Middletown. He retired from Akers Packaging in 1999. He was a dedicated member of Christ United Methodist Church in Middletown, enjoying mission work and serving the Lord and his church family.

Following his graduation from Alton High School in 1960, the Forrester family moved to Queens, NY where he met his future wife, Marjorie Angus, at the Ozone Park United Methodist Church. Their union has lasted nearly 63 years, and they welcomed three children, Jane, Michael, and John.

Mike is survived by his wife, Marge; daughter, Jane (Tom) Tipton; sons, Mike (Amber) and John (Marcia); grandchildren, Chris Forrester, Brooke (John) McGuire, Ashlee Forrester, Tommy Tipton, Amanda (Matt Sampson) Patterson, Ashley Patterson, Seldon (Katy) Patterson, great-grandchildren, Hank and Will McGuire, Diamond, Jadon, Jazmyn and Avery Tucker, Josiah Sampson, Cairo Patterson and Jensen Patterson; sister, Jacqueline (Douglas) Ohlmansiek; special niece and nephew, Jennifer (Chris) McCain and Jonathan (Kerri) Ohlmansiek, brother-in-law Richard Angus, and many other loving nieces, nephews and family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Janice Hizer, nephew, Wayne Hizer, niece, Debbie Angus, mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Anna Angus, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, John and Muriel Angus, June and Bernard Eble and Claudia Angus.

Big Mike had a big heart. There are not enough words to describe his larger-than-life personality. He loved his family, all sports, good concession stands and never knew a stranger. He was kind, generous, caring and took care of everyone, especially Marge, with all he had. He gave 110% to everything he did. Most importantly, he loved the Lord and for that we are most thankful. He will be sorely missed here, but we rejoice in knowing we will one day be together with him in a house prepared for us by the Lord. A special thank you to Aimee and Joselyn on the critical care team at Atrium for their care and their kindness to him and to our family.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at noon, at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown with Pastor Fred Hurst officiating. The family received friends beginning two hours prior, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd. Middletown, OH 45044.

It is with great sadness that I put this up on In Memory.  We were so happy to  have Mike with us on this website. Thanks go out to Jane Tipton, his loving daughter,  who facilitated his renewing old acquaintances with us. Rest in Peace Mike.
