Founder of Summer Chorus Ron Kelly has passed away

To members of Alton Senior High School Presents the Summer Chorus Musicals!

Hello folks. For those who haven't heard, Mr. Ron Kelly, founder of Alton Senior High Summer Chorus Musicals, passed away early in the morning of Monday, November the 16th, 2009. I'm still awaiting details of his funeral service which will be held in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area next Monday. I'll pass along the details as I receive them. We hope to host a celebration of his life and his service to the Alton area with a memorial service in the near future.

So sorry to hear of Ron Kelly's passing.  He truly had a gift for teaching music and I enjoyed him as a chorus director at East Junior.  He made learning music fun and was entertaining in the process.  He made each student feel special, especially when you were nervous about trying out for a part.  He brought out the best in each of us who knew him.
