Marianne (Crider) Jones, 60, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born on October 11, 1951, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Marcella P. Crider.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 43 years, Carl Jones; a daughter, Kim; a son, Kevin; and three grandchildren.

Marianne had worked for Elias Smith Funeral Home and for Senior Services Plus in Alton before retiring to Laurie, MO, where she continued to write grants for non-profit organizations and plan fundraising events. She enjoyed her life in the Ozarks and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A private memorial service is being planned for the family and close friends.

Always ready with a joke or funny story to tell, Marianne certainly will be missed by those who knew her.
