John A. Heintz, 46, died June 13, 1998, in Fort Meyers, Florida.

Born September 13, 1951, in Alton, he was a son of John G. Heintz, and the late Betty Lou Hudson.

The former long-time Alton resident was employed as the director of marketing for the Everglades Beverage Co. in Cape Coral.  He was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two brothers, Joseph Heintz of Lake Charles, La., and Jerry Heintz of Alton; two sisters, Jeanne M. Heintz-Watkins of Cape Coral and Ginger Heintz-Dippel of Alton.

In accordance with John's wishes, there was no visitation and cremation rites were accorded.

A private scattering ceremony was held at sunset with the remains scattered into the River of Mexico in Fort Meyers.

Memorials were suggested to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton.  Fine and Quinn Chapel for Funerals in Alton was in charge of arrangements.
