Cheryl was my very best friend from the 7th grade on. Even though she had a steady boyfriend, she still had plenty of time for me. She married her high school sweetheart and had three beautiful daughters.. She and her husband came to see us in 1971 when we lived in Atlanta. I still remember standing on the sidewalk while our husbands got the car, and two guys tried to pick us up. Cheryl developed MS in her early 20's and eventually died from the disease. She and her husband had bought my parent's house, and she and the girls remained there after her husband divorced her. Unfortunately this is fairly common with MS. I always felt bad that the only contact we had in her later life was by letters. She enriched my teen age years, and I will never forget her.
