He was predeceased by: his parents, William O. Jackson and Bernice Jackson (Burleson); his brothers, Steven and Nathan Jackson; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald Buckshot and Al Woolverton.

He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Jackson, Jr. (Chelsea Huggins) of St. Charles, MO; and his sisters, Carol Cannavan of Wood River, IL, Barbara Buckshot of Alton, Gail Woolverton of Alton, Claire Jackson of Maryland Heights, MO and Janet Steinbrueck (Bill) of Godfrey.

ALTON — Jeffrey A. Jackson, 63, died unexpectedly Aug. 6 at Saint Anthony's Health Center.

Jeff was a graduate of Alton High School class of 1976.

Jeff loved music and played guitar. He also had a love of cars and hot rods that he shared long distance with his nephew David Jackson, of Duluth, Minnesota.

Jeff was the seventh of eight children born to Orville and Bernice Jackson. He is survived by his namesake son, Jeffrey A. Jackson Jr., and fiancée Chelsea Huggins. Also surviving are five sisters, Janet (Bill) Steinbrueck, Carol Cannavan, Barb Buckshot, Gail Woolverton and Claire Jackson. There are numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jeff in death were his parents and brothers, Steven and Nathan, with whom he shared a birthday of Aug. 27.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Jeffrey was an organ donor.

Jeffrey A. Jackson, Sr., age 63, of Godfrey, IL, died Thursday, August 6, 2020 at St. Anthony Hospital in Alton.

He was born August 27, 1956, the son of the late William O. and Bernice (Burleson) Jackson.

Mr. Jackson is survived by a son, Jeffrey Jackson, Jr. (fiancé Chelsea Huggins) of St. Charles, MO; and five sisters: Carol Cannavan of Wood River, IL, Barbara Buckshot of Alton, Gail Woolverton of Alton, Claire Jackson of Maryland Heights, MO and Janet (Bill) Steinbrueck of Godfrey.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Steven and Nathan Jackson; and two brothers-in-law: Ronald Buckshot and Al Woolverton.

Jeffrey retired from Olin Corporation as a utilities supervisor. He enjoyed music, playing guitar in several bands. He was also an automotive enthusiast, enjoying racing and restoring American muscle cars.
