Anne Leigh (Rose) Snider flew home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Anne “fought like a girl” against metastatic breast cancer with the love and support of her husband, daughters, family and many friends.
Faithful, devoted and loving wife of Frank S. Snider. Dedicated and supportive mother of Melinda Anne Weber and Kelly Marie Foushee. Beloved mother-in-law of Ty Weber and the late Tony Foushee. Dearest “Ya Ya” to her greatest love Cardin Rose Weber. Loving daughter of the late Harry L. Rose Jr. and Sarah A. Rose (Malone). Sister of Susan (Mike) Duckels and Jane (Stan) Morgan. Dear aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Anne was born on June 8, 1957 in Alton, Illinois. She attended Alton High School, Lewis and Clark Community College and later graduated from the University of St. Francis. Anne was a true scientist who loved all things microbiology. She was a loyal employee to St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton, IL for 40 years. Her dedication guided her into the role of the microbiology department supervisor. Many adored her hard work and commitment to the profession.
In her free time, Anne spent every possible moment with her faithful companion of 36 years, Frankie. Her love for her favorite four-legged friends Muffin Socks, Lucy and Hopie always kept her smiling. When she wasn’t working, you could usually find her reading People magazine, drinking Diet Pepsi, eating fruit-flavored candy or watching Bravo TV.
Frankie was not the only man in her life. She always left room for her music love, Rod Stewart. Besides her skills with microscopic organisms, Anne was a masterful shopper who delighted in spoiling her girls, especially Cardin Rose.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at First Christian Church in Wood River, IL.
Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Snider, Weber, Foushee family or the college fund of the future scientist, Cardin Rose Weber.
