ALTON- Sue Ann (Wallace) Vantrease, 44, went home to be with her Savior at 10:50 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2001, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center.
Born February 26, 1957, in Alton, she was the daughter of Pearl (Harrison) Wallace of Alton and the late Edward Wallace.
A former Spanish teacher at Montessori Children's House and Westminster Christian Academy Riverbend, she was a member of Trinity Fellowship in Alton. She enjoyed gardening and decorating.
On May 15, 1987, in Alton, she married Mark Vantrease. He survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, surviving are a daughter, Angela Vantrease; a son, Christopher Vantrease; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan A. and Marian Wallace of Wood River and Michael S. and Karen Wallace of Mount Vernon; her mother-in-law, Myrtle Vantrease of Alton; a sister-in-law; Debra Prestridge of Texas; and her godmother, Vida Harrison of Alton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton, where Pastor David Baer will officite at services at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial will follow in Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
