Willie Maurice "Tucker" Williams, the son of Joseph and Nettie Mae (Eldridge) Williams-Turner was born on February 5, 1957 in Alton, Illinois.

He graduated from Alton Senior High School and attended McKendree College. Although taking a circuitous route, he constantly acquired new skills and pursued knowledge in July of 2015, he earned that coveted degree a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Sciences from Ashford University.

Willie also, diligently sought the Lord recently joining Mount Eagle Baptist Church (Chicago). His faith was evident in the works and services he offered in his church home and beyond. Maurice continued to develop as a master craftsman. He was a powerful counselor / advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous developing relationships which helped others conquer their obstacles.

He is preceded in death by: his mother Nettie Mae (Eldridge) Williams-Turner; and a son, Phillip Smith.

Tucker leaves to mourn: his wife, Sammie Lynn (Johnson) Williams, two sons, Torre Williams of Edwardsville, Illinois and Terand Lavender of Alton, Illinois; daughters, Ashley Kennedy of Park Forest, Illinois and step daughter, Davia Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren, Drayke Maurice Williams, Sarea Williams, Myah Cook Williams and Patience, Isabella Lashley; three brothers; Gordon Williams (Alton, IL),Fred Jones, (Springfield, IL), and Eugene Plaid (Los Vegas, NV); three sisters; Claudette (James) Day (Harvey, IL), Dr. Joann Thompson (Columbia, SC), and Renice Bolling (Alton, IL); brothers-in-law; Frederick Johnson and Xavier Johnson (both of Chicago, IL); sisters-in-law; Diane Gresham, Brenda Johnson, and Thelma Smith (all of Chicago, IL and special lifelong friend, Daryl Walker of Iowa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
