She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William D. and Lorraine (Laughlin) Snyder. On March 16, 1961, she married Lester E. Snyder in Tyrone. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2013.
Surviving are her two children, Christopher D. of Bellwood and Penny R. (Ryan Howell) Prough of Port Matilda; three grandchildren: Kelsey N. Prough, Aaron Bowman and Gracelyn Howell; and three siblings, Gary W. (Debbie) Snyder, Carol A. (Ken) Graham and Sylvia E. Moyer, all of Altoona.
Sandy was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona, and the Sinking Valley Grange.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, doing crafts, camping and traveling.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Sandy’s memory be made to Central PA Humane Society, Altoona.
