James Joseph ‘Jimmy Joe’ Batrus

Aug. 28, 1951 – May 22, 2024

 

James Joseph “Jimmy Joe” Batrus, 72, Altoona, peacefully passed away Wednesday after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. James was born in Altoona, son of the late Thomas Batrus and Alma Wierman.

He married the love of his life, Sharon I. Bell, on June 26, 1969. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 1999.

James is proudly survived by his daughter, Candance Holliday (Alfie); and three beautiful granddaughters: Kayla Holliday, Gabby Holliday and Rebecca Holliday, who brought him so much love and happiness. 

He is also survived by his dear mother, Alma; two sisters, Karen Mullen and Roberta Parisi (Dan); and nieces and nephews: Autumn, Tommy, Danny and Christine. 

Last but not least, he was blessed with many friends whom he loved, especially Vince Solimando (Nikki, Teresa and Michael).

At James’ request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be planned in the next couple of weeks.

Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home Inc., 1222 13th Ave., Altoona.

Very sorry to hear Jimmy has passed.  Great guy great attitude.  RIP Jim and many blessings to his family
