Richard “Rick” Griebel was a man of great character who came into this world in Altoona, PA on November 20, 1953 and after a courageous battle from a sudden diagnosis of esophageal cancer, left this world from his house in Tucson on July 16, 2014 to his new Home with his Lord Jesus. His babe, Christine, was his best friend and beloved wife for 38 years. His greatest legacy is his 3 sons – Michael (Tiffany), Matthew (Jeanette) and Mark and his greatest joy were his grandchildren: Daityn, Caidy Belle, Trigger, Jacob and Grace. Rick was the younger brother to Jane and oldest male in his Zumba class. He was a fun loving uncle to Beth, Brad and Lucy. Rick highly valued his work family at Ventana Medical Systems and was passionate about his “Wild at Heart” ministry and Chaplaincy with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. Rick took pleasure in riding his motorcycle, playing racquetball, eating peanuts, and winning at cards. In the Fall, his blood ran Blue/White on Saturdays for Penn State, and Black/Gold on Sunday’s for the Steelers. Come brightly dressed to “Celebrate” his abundant life on Saturday, July 26, 2104 at 1:00pm at St. Andrew’s Church - 7650 N Paseo Del Norte, Tucson, AZ. You can read his cancer journey or see a video of the service on his caringbridge.com site.
