I received word of Greta's passing from Marcia Mundy. Her obitiuary from the Altoona Mirror:

"Gretta Bridgers, 58, Ambler, died Saturday (November 24, 2011) at Keystone Hospice House, Wyndmoor, after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Tarboro, N.C., daughter of the late Joseph and Lossie (Ricks) Bridgers.

Surviving are a brother, Robert of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Mabriel of Philadelphia; seven nieces and nephews: Tonya and Tammi Bridgers, both of Altoona, Daniel Fortson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shawna Sullivan and Heather Bridgers, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Quinton and Jason Bridgers, both of Kent, Wash.; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; two aunts; and six cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Fortson.

Gretta was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and Boston University. She taught briefly at Chubbs Computer & Technology School, then started training as a paralegal at Villanova University. She formerly was employed as a system analyst at Prudential and The Hartford insurance companies and as a project manager at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Gretta was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and she participated yearly in the Race for the Cure. She was an avid reader and enjoyed repairing things."
