Joan A. Beck, 68, Greenwood, died early Wednesday morning at UPMC Altoona, after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Albert R. and Helen Jeanine (Muscatelli) Finochio.

On Feb. 15, 1974, she married Terry L. Beck in Ashville.

Surviving are her husband; a brother, Scott Finochio of Hollidaysburg; and a sister, Anne Morris of Allison Park.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Richard Finochio.

Joan was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She was formerly employed as a weaver at Juniata Silk Mill with 37 years of service. She was currently employed as a baker in the bakery department at Walmart, Altoona, where she was known by her co-workers as “Jo-Jo.”

She attended Logan Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood.

Joan enjoyed listening to oldies and Country Western music, watching the television shows “Reba” and “The Golden Girls” and loved playing games on her cellphone.

She also enjoyed watching football and baseball, especially the Steelers, Penn State and Pirates.

Joan always liked taking car rides to enjoy the country scenery and to visit casinos. She was most comfortable in her blue jeans and T-shirts.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood, with Pastor Stan Gill officiating.
